You are already enough, even if you're still grieving a loss

Today I want to remind you that Jesus sees you. Even in the midst of your pain. Even in the darkness. Even in the moments where you may feel forgotten. You are enough for Him. You are valuable to Him. You are cherished and loved by Him, today, exactly how you are.

In Mark 1:40-41, a man ridden with leprosy comes to Jesus and begs him for healing. It reads,

“Then a man with leprosy came to him and, on his knees, begged him, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.” Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched him. “I am willing,” he told him. “Be made clean.”

"I am willing"

Jesus didn’t wait for the man to clean himself up. He didn’t tell him to come back later when he wasn’t as busy. The man showed up to Jesus in his most vulnerable, deeply hurting, wounded self, so desperate for helping that he drops to his knees. And it says that Jesus was “moved with compassion.”

Jesus didn’t just feel sorry for the man, he wanted to take action in helping him. So Jesus healed him.

Sometimes, we just need the reminder that we are enough, exactly the way we are.

Reminder for Today

We are never too wounded to be accepted by Jesus. We don’t have to hide parts of ourselves from him. We don’t have to pretend we have it all together or pretend that we’re strong, when all we may feel in this season is weak. It's okay to bring your mess.

No matter how troublesome the season we are walking through may feel, hope is one thing we can repeatedly cling to Jesus for.
